We investigated the impact of mining sand.

In the world, sand shortages and the impact on the economy, global, local and people caused by sand production are becoming problems. So what is the impact of sand production?

First, how does the environment affect sand production?

The first affects wildlife. This is because when sand is mined on the beach, it can interfere with wildlife that inhabits the beach ecosystem. Second, it has a negative impact on the local tourism industry. This is because sand mining destroys the aesthetic beauty of the beaches and riverbanks, destabilizes the ecosystems in these areas and loses tourist attractions. The third effect is that the island disappears by collecting offshore sand. This is because the remaining sand movement begins with a large collection. This effect is very problematic and can lead to border changes.

Second, what impact does sand production have on the global economy?

Currently, a large amount of sand is collected and there is not enough sand. That is why we trade sand all over the world. For example, the sand used to build the world’s tallest building in Burj Khalifa is Australian sand. Sand is used for construction. As a result, sand prices rose and construction costs increased due to lack of sand. Therefore, it affects the economy.

What is the impact of sand production on people? The first is to destroy the village near the sand collection. The second mainly affects farmers, fishermen, and people who go for water themselves. These people can become homeless environmental refugees. It’s already happening in Sri Lanka and the Mekong Delta.

What can we do to reduce this impact?

Among them, there is sand called “recycled sand” that reduces the impact on the environment. Recycled sand is “recycled material, asphalt concrete generated material, recycled material manufactured from cement concrete generated material, or a mixture of these materials, with a trapping material added as necessary to obtain a predetermined quality. Is defined as a material. This is considered a better idea and is already in use in Japan.

Sand as a protective base for road and building construction. It is used for various purposes such as sandboxes where children can play safely, crops such as watermelon, and sand for growing fruits and vegetables. Therefore, I think you should consider the problem of sand.
