From doing much of ourupper MYP in online school, to being the first Ascend batch to give the E-assessments, and now finally graduating together, we, the class of 2024 have finally reached the very end of our high school journey. As we all diverge to different colleges, across the world, the experiences and memories of the past years at Ascend will keep us bonded for a long time to come.
The DP has been challenging for all of us in various ways, managing it with college applications and all the additional components, it has made the past 2 years full of stressful moments, however, there have also been a good share of memories we’ve created as a class. From our class trips to Nagaland and Andaman Islands to the several school and outside school activities, like the dances, projects and even everyday school life.
Being only 15 people in our class, we’ve gotten a chance to individually interact with and create connections with almost all of our classmates, a rare opportunity in most high schools. From being the class of 2024, we’ve become a little family, relying on each other through the rigorous DP. We all found motivation and solace in the company of each other and it made each EE deadline and IA submission just that little bit easier to handle.
Through the 2 years everyone has also been able to identify some direction in which they see themselves moving and accordingly
choose courses and colleges that best equip them to pursue this path. We would also like to believe that as a class, we’ve left a lasting impression on Ascend, from providing the ideas of the transition music and student council, to seeing the growth of several programs at school, like the sports teams as well as the art and music programs, we can’t wait to see where Ascend goes in the next 10 years when we all reunite to celebrate our class.
Over the 11th and 12th, we’ve created special relationships with teachers, coaches and our juniors as well, making school a place of many important people and memories that we will cherish forever as we walk into our next doors of life. It’s really hard to fully comprehend that we’re done with high school. It’s a bittersweet moment, with all of us wanting nothing more than to be done with it during exams and all the stress-filled times, but now that we’re done, we can’t help yearning for just a little more. With each last– last first day, last class, last exam, the reality of the finish line just started to hit. Although it may not be the place we go everyday or the place we call “our school”, Ascend will always hold a special place in our hearts and stories in everything that we do.
