Housefull is a comedy film series created and thought of by Sajid Nadiadwala, who is an Indian film producer, cricketer, and director. The Housefull series have similar story characteristics throughout the 4 movies. All the previous Housefull movies have had stagnant stories and repetitive jokes. The audience enjoyed the concept of hiding from the family and making up stories, but in the end, it all came out to have a great happy ending.

Housefull 4 was different than all others. The basic plot of the movie is that three friends- Harry, Max, and Roy, played by Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, and Ritesh Deshmukh, are in a debt due to Harry’s forgetful nature. To pay back the debt they decided to use their girlfriends played by Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hedge, and Kriti Kharbanda, who were the daughters of a millionaire. Looking at this in real-world concept, the idea was pretty nasty, to use their girlfriends for money. However, it is not unheard of in the entertainment. They decided to have a destination wedding in Sitapur. When they reached, Harry got a memory of his life 600 years ago when he was Rajkumar Bala of Sitapur. The rest of the first half was spent building up the 6 people’s lives 600 years ago until eventually, it ended with them dying. The attempt of making a storyline of 600 years ago was unique. There has not been a reincarnation comedy in Bollywood. The VFX could use some work. This movie doesn’t fit with the story with all the other previous Housefull movies. In my opinion, making another movie like the previous 3 would be more successful.

A lot of the jokes made were too repetitive but still funny when mentioned. Attempts to be funny were made at the expense of serious topics, though it is wrong to make jokes and take things like homophobia and transgenders as a joke. Most of the public laughed and didn’t care to think about it again. Jokes like these do not affect the majority of the public. However, it affects the minority in a big way. For some people, this movie could be something they remember all their lives because of the jokes made on their expenses.  A lot of the critics gave negative reviews to this movie and said that the actors could have done something better than this. Bollywood culture needs more comedy movies as do the actors. It is movies like Housefull 4 which makes acting for the actors more enjoyable. The main reason for movies since the beginning was to entertain and this movie has been able to do that, which is why it deserves more than 2.5 stars. I agree that compared to the standard of movies these days it was unsatisfactory but I can guarantee that everyone laughed during the movie at some point. The role of all the actors and other members of the Housefull team have given the audience a laugh.

Overall Housefull 4 had a great story and the songs made were comical and got a laugh out of everyone. Though, the scriptwriter could avoid making jokes at the expense of minorities. These jokes can change the way a person feels. The transgender community has just started to feel accepted and making jokes on them does not help their mental health. If all the sexist and homophobic comments were omitted from the movie, it wouldn’t be that bad of an idea to have a comedy where two storylines are in play.
